Policy #1.9.10-Report of School Vandalism

REPORT OF SCHOOL VANDALISM                                                        1.9.10

 

A report of vandalism on school property shall be prepared when discovered by the Head Custodian in conjunction with the school principal and submitted to the Superintendent who, in turn, will inform the Committee at the next meeting.

 

In the event of vandalism on school property the report will be given verbally and then in writing by the Head Custodian or the person discovering same to the building principal who in turn will notify: (first by phone and then in writing).

 

  • The local police (when necessary)
  • The Superintendent's Office
  • The Head Custodian if he has not been informed.

 

The preliminary report should be followed by a final report with cost estimate of the vandalism.

 

The Superintendent will report same to the School Committee.

 

During weekends, holidays, vacation periods, the Head Custodian or his designee will notify the local police by phone about any vandalism. He will inform the principal about the vandalism at the earliest appropriate time and the principal in turn will follow the above procedure.
