Policy #3.1.1-Organized Activities

ORGANIZED ACTIVITIES                                                                                     3.1.1


 

The principals shall supervise all organized activities and financial aspects of the pupils.

 

Each principal shall be authorized to receive money in connection with the conduct of certain student activities and to deposit such money with the Millis Town Treasurer in an interest bearing bank account.

 

Each principal shall be authorized to have an activity checking account in accordance with Section 47 of Chapter 71 of the General Laws. The maximum balance at anyone time for this account shall be $50,000.. Interest from the account may be used by the individual principal for school activities.

 

Principals shall follow the procedures developed jointly by the Superintendent of Schools, the Town Accountant, and the Town Treasurer to ensure compliance with Section 47 of Chapter 71 of the General Laws.

 

The accounts shall be audited as part of the town's annual audit.
